Associate Development Program
Our Associate Development Program is an accelerated, twelve to twenty-four month program designed to prepare people who have a technical education, background, and experience for a position in our Sales Organization. This program is specifically designed for recent college graduates looking for an exciting career, and for veterans looking for an opportunity to transition their military knowledge and skills into a great civilian career in Inside Sales, Account Management/Technical Sales, and Technical Sales and Solutions. Once accepted into the program, you will use the education and skills you already have to work side by side with current Inside Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Specialists while completing in-depth online, classroom, and one-on-one training in Horizon’s products and services, the sales process, and the skills, tools, and resources for success in electrical distribution. Following completion of the Associate Development Program, you will begin a lifelong career with everything you need to thrive.

All new employees begin with on-boarding to help them quickly and completely understand all of the aspects of our business, customers, suppliers, the organization and, of course, their new position. On-Boarding is followed by setting goals and the creation of a development plan for your continued growth and success. For those specifically interested in management or leadership positions, Horizon has specialized management training programs, as well as leadership opportunities, at every level. Employees interested in taking their training to the next level, and continuing the development of their management and leadership skills in a practical environment, are provided the opportunity to participate on and lead teams tied directly to a major company initiative or program. Team leaders are provided the support of an Executive Sponsor who serves as a mentor for both the leader and the team’s success.
