Horizon Solutions, a wholesale distributor of electrical, automation and industrial products in upstate New York and New England, today announced a new partnership with a Rockwell Automation Encompass Partner, MECCO®. Horizon Solutions will distribute the MECCO line in upstate New York and northern New England.

MECCO provides quality marking systems that feature factory-ready connectivity that integrate directly into factory automation networks. MECCO’s two product marking lines, Laser Marking Systems and Dot Peen Marking Systems, offer a full range of cost-effective technologies for workstations, hand-held, and integrated production lines.

“Adding the MECCO Dot Peen and Laser Marking line to our industrial automation offering enables us to provide our customers with simplified marking and real-time traceability. MECCO’s EtherNet/IP-enabled architecture provides the ability to track and trace product via barcodes and serial numbers throughout its history and provides access to key information, as well as the ability to automate processes through Logix integration. The MECCO part identification system provides the most consistent and versatile direct marking method available,” said Jim Bischoff, Director of Automation at Horizon Solutions.

Horizon Solutions, a wholesale distributor of electrical, automation and industrial products in upstate New York and New England, today announced the expansion of their value-added services by becoming a designated Hoffman Certified Modification Center.

“Customers tell us that performing manual control enclosure modifications is an inefficient and time-consuming process and that actual costs can vary widely from what was estimated. In addition, enclosure manufacturers sometimes struggle with providing small runs of custom mods, causing delays and customer service challenges. We are excited that Horizon’s customers will now realize significant benefits from our investment in a system that enables us to perform these mods in-house on an automated machining center. This reduces costs, improves lead times and provides a more consistent, quality product to our customers. We are calling this service ‘EnclosureMods made EZ’ by Horizon Solutions and in-stock enclosures can ship in as little as one to three days after the drawings are approved. Ordering is easy; customers can supply us with their CAD or DXF files or, if they lack these, we can create them on demand. All the drilling, tapping, and cutting is automated, delivering ready to install enclosures with perfectly smooth edges, precise clean holes and cutouts. This service will definitely help make our customers more productive. We’ve processed a number of orders already and the feedback has been very positive,” said David Hayes, Executive VP of Sales & Marketing Communications.

EnclosureMods made EZ is the most versatile solution when it comes to accommodating a wide range of global enclosure dimensional standards. It can accommodate enclosures up to 93 inches tall by 86 inches wide and back panels up to 92 inches tall by 94 inches wide. The machine offers programmed automated modifications for a variety of materials, including mild carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, die cast aluminum, copper, or any composite materials including PVC, polycarbonate, thermoplastic and fiberglass.
